Isn’t it shocking to see my skin transformation? The before pictures were taken in 2016 and these after pictures were taken this year (2024).
Over the years, I have done some very interesting things in the pursuit of health and caring for my once problematic skin. In todays blog, I will share with you what I currently use topically to keep my skin healthy and glowing.
I will share that I have also worked diligently in cleansing my internal and emotional body as well because I believe that skin health also has alot to do with internal cleansing, but I'll share more about that in future beauty blogs.
If you are on the road to healthy, radiant skin, you can being now with a simple routine, deep intention and clean, effective products that focus on gentle cell turn over. To learn more. I invite you to read on...
As an esthetician with over a decade of experience in the beauty industry, I understand the challenges of achieving radiant skin-because I’ve been there. Having struggled with acne myself, I’ve learned that the right combination of gentle care and intentionality can transform your skin and your confidence.
Glowing skin isn’t just about beauty products-it’s an outward expression of your inner radiance. When we care for our skin, we’re doing much more than creating a routine, we are crafting an intentional ritual of self-love, sacred time to nurture ourselves and connect with our feminine essence.
Throughout all my trials and errors in developing a skincare routine that keeps my skin healthy, I have noticed that a simple and clean yet consistent routine is best. I have noticed that by also adding in the magic of setting intentions through repeating a mantra while applying my skincare in the mirror has given incredible results.
When our skin is going through issues, it can be hard to look in the mirror with confidence. Trust me, there were days I have cried taking off my makeup. But please know that when you can look in the mirror (flaws and all) and still truly love and accept yourself, half the magic is already done. It's as if simply by doing this step with intention, stagnant energy (which can manifest itself as skin abnormal conditions) begins to move and you will see drastic improvement.
So before you begin- prepare yourself mentally and emotionally each time you step in front of the mirror and tell you heart that you love it no matter what the mirror reflects at the time.
This is a deep act of self love and healing medicine your skin needs to finally let go of the energies that may be contributing to the skin issues. With every imbalance (including skin issues), there is a stagnant emotional connection. Let the tears flow, and release or purge what no longer serves to make way for a new way of loving your healthy skin- you are so loved.
Here’s how you can start your path to achieving a luminous glow: (repeat each mantra into the mirror as you do this simple skin care routine)
Abnormal skin issues can cause deep insecurities and weigh on us energetically. Even if you dont feel 100% confident about your skin right now, you can begin imagining your radiance right now. Begin your skincare ritual with a gentle cleanser that suits your skin type. If you have oily to comibantion skin- I reccomend Minimalist 2% Salicylic Acid Face Wash. As you wash away impurities, imagine releasing stress, negative energy, and anything weighing you down. This isn’t just cleansing your skin; it’s clearing your energy field to allow your inner light to shine.
Exfoliate nightly to reveal fresh, radiant skin underneath. My favorite is the AHA BHA 10% Face Exfoliator by Minimalist, which contains lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid. This gentle liquid is an effective formula for unclogging pores, smoothing texture, and promoting a radiant complexion. It’s like shedding old layers, leaving your renewed and glowing- Hello baby fresh skin! I love the fact that its gentle enough to use nightly and also safe for pregnancy.
Use this exfoliator in the evening, followed by rosehip oil to calm and hydrate your skin after exfoliation. This dynamic duo works wonders for maintaining a healthy, balanced glow.
After cleansing, tone your skin with something calming and hydrating. Follow with a moisturizer rich in natural ingredients that heal and replenish. For nighttime hydration, my go-to product is 100% Rose Hip Oil (cold-pressed and unrefined). This lightweight oil doesn’t clog pores yet deeply softens and smooths the skin, making it perfect for acne-prone or sensitive skin types. Use it nightly to wake up with soft, rejuvenated skin.
In the morning, don't forget sunscreen to shield your skin from harmful rays. I recommend Minimalist Sunscreen SPF 50 Lightweight with Multi-Vitamins | No White Cast. Think of it as your skin’s invisible armor, protecting your beauty and health.
Remember, glowing skin also comes from within. Stay hydrated, eat vibrant foods rich in antioxidants, and get enough rest. Stress steals radiance, so make time to relax and breathe deeply. A calm, peaceful heart reflects in your face.
Finally, turn your skincare routine into a sacred act. Light a candle, play soft music, and set an intention for self-love as you apply your products.(repeat each mantra into the mirror as you do this simple skin care routine) Imagine each step filling you with warmth, beauty, and feminine energy.
Cleanse: Begin your day with a gentle cleanser. Minimalist 2% Salicylic Acid Face Wash.
Exfoliate: Use the AHA BHA 10% Face Exfoliator by Minimalist at mininum 2-3 times a week (I like to do this step nightly.) AHA BHA 10% Face Exfoliator by Minimalist
Hydrate: Apply 100% Rose Hip Oil at night for a soft, smooth finish. 100% Rose Hip Oil (cold-pressed and unrefined)
Protect: In the morning, finish with sunscreen. Minimalist Sunscreen SPF 50 Lightweight with Multi-Vitamins | No White Cast
